Homemade Granola Bars

My sweet hubby and my kiddos love granola bars, but with a family of 9, they can go through alot of them quickly... The packaged ones usually sell for about $3 a box, with about 8 in a box.  I figured that I could make them as well as anyone else..So, I set out this weekend to find and perfect a recipe to save us some money and probably make them healthier also.
This is my recipe and it turned out wonderfully.  I estimate that it cost me about $3 and makes about 24 bars.  My kids, including my nieces were asking me to make more... So, Im gonna assume they were a hit...

  •           1 cup all-purpose flour
  •           1 teaspoon baking soda
  •           1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •           2/3 cup butter, softened
  •           1/2 cup honey
  •           1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  •           2 cups miniature semisweet chocolate chips

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees  Lightly grease one 9x13 inch pan.
  2. 2. In a large mixing bowl combine the oats, flour, baking soda, vanilla, butter or margarine, honey and brown sugar. Stir in the 2 cups assorted chocolate chips, raisins, nuts etc.
